The making of the Aviator

Pure Passion

The Kestrel K8 Aviator Coupé was created by a small circle of designers, engineers and coachbuilders whose work already belongs to Kestrel's modern history. Many had shaped the marque before. Reunited around one conviction, they set out to create the car.

A carbon-fibre panel with a machined access hatch, its weave catching a single studio light. — Iso-grid began as an aerospace solution: interlocking triangles that reduce weight without sacrificing strength. On the K8 Aviator Coupé it becomes a recurring geometry across the front and rear mesh, the air inlets, pedals, upholstery and engine covers — an engineering principle carried through every detail.

The rear wing and exposed carbon deck of the Aviator at dusk, reflections running along its edge. — Every exterior surface is hand-finished before paint. The rear deck is left in exposed weave and lacquered twelve times, so the structure of the car remains visible through the depth of the finish.
