Pressure doesn’t need managing. It needs a structure to land on.

Ascent is a twelve-week discipline protocol for founders, operators and competitive athletes. Four phases in a fixed order, one coach, a weekly review you can’t move. Not motivation. Architecture.

The decision Two words · drag to change the order

One day, or day one. The same two words; the order is the decision.

The protocol

Twelve weeks. Four phases. The order is the point.

Most programmes hand you a habit list and hope. The protocol is sequenced: you can’t be consistent at something you haven’t chosen, and you can’t repeat what you never held. Two weeks to choose, four to hold, four to make it who you are, two to run it alone.

Phase 01Weeks 1–2

Focus

One objective, in one written sentence, and a list of everything that isn’t it. We cut before we build. The kill list is longer than the plan, and you sign it.

  • Objective, one sentence
  • Kill list, signed
  • Baseline: sleep, load, output

Phase 02Weeks 3–6

Discipline

Three daily minimums you can hit on your worst day. A minimum is not a goal. It is a floor, and a floor only counts if it holds on the week that collapses.

  • Three floors, fixed
  • Daily log, by 21:00
  • Floor hit rate, weekly

Phase 03Weeks 7–10

Consistency

The streak stops being a number and starts being who you are. We count weeks now, not days, and we raise one floor, once, on purpose.

  • Weekly hit rate, ninety per cent or better
  • One floor raised
  • Recovery rule for a missed day
Ridge after ridge receding into haze.

Phase 04Weeks 11–12

Repetition

Do it again, without us. The last fortnight runs on your review, not ours, and ends with the plan for cycle two written down, at a higher floor.

  • Self-run Monday review
  • Cycle two, written
  • Exit metrics against baseline

Under pressure

Built for people whose calendar is the enemy.

Nobody here needs telling to work harder. The problem is the opposite: everything is urgent, so nothing that matters to you personally survives the week. The protocol gives it a floor the week can’t reach.

FounderSeed to Series C

Board on Thursday, payroll on Friday, and a body you’ve ignored since the seed round.

The protocol doesn’t add a line to the list. It is the thing that decides the list, so the ninety minutes you have been promising yourself since March actually happen, before the first call.

OperatorCOO, GM, chief of staff

You run the system that runs everyone else. Your own floors are the first thing you cut.

Operators are the best in the room at holding other people’s standards. We put yours on the same log as theirs, and it is the log you review first every Monday.

AthleteCompeting, any code

Training is already disciplined. The other twenty-two hours decide the season.

Your coach owns the session. We own everything around it: sleep logged, fuel planned, the phone out of the room, and a floor that holds in competition week when the plan doesn’t.

The week, every week

One meeting you can’t move. Three floors you can’t fall through.

The structure is the same in week one and week twelve. What changes is what the floors are, and who runs the review. By the end it is you.

  1. Mon
Review. Forty-five minutes, with your coach.Last week’s log, this week’s one change. Never moved, never skipped, never longer.
  2. Tue–Sat
The minimums, logged by 21:00.Three floors. If you can’t hit them on your worst day, they aren’t floors and we lower them. For example:
    • Sun
Audit. Twenty minutes, alone.Which floor held, which didn’t, and one sentence on why. That sentence opens Monday.

    Field notes

I’d tried every app. The difference was the floor. On a bad week I still hit three small things, and the week didn’t collapse.

The Monday review is the only meeting in my calendar I have never moved. That fact alone changed how the rest of it gets treated.

Sixteen weeks out from nationals I stopped chasing peak days. My worst days got better. That is what moved the number.

    How it’s run

Small, in the room where it matters, paid once.

Twelve people per cohort, one coach, no assistants. The Monday review is on a call or in the room in Singapore or London. Everything else is a log, a thread and you.
