Questions
Twelve things people ask before they write to us, in the order they ask them. Answered in full, with the same numbers the Services page prints.
A website costs S$500 on the start-up promotion — up to five pages, with three months of changes free — or S$800 on the standard build: a fixed price, no page ceiling, one month of changes free.
The promotion is the studio’s opening rate while the portfolio is being built. Four things come with both.
- 01The website itself, designed and built for your business — not a template
- 02A free audit
- 03An optional in-person session: an engineer walks you through your own site’s back end
- 04The warranty — three months of free changes on the promotion, one month on the standard build
Each rate’s terms are set out row by row on the Services page.
Six things that decide a project, and where each choice stands.

| What you are comparing | One freelancer | An agency | Thornbury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical price | A few hundred to a few thousand. | Several thousand and up. | S$500 promotional, or S$800 fixed. |
| Who actually builds it | One person, working alone. | A team you often never meet. | A team, and every build is reviewed by more than its author. |
| Security and the back end | Rarely reviewed, rarely explained. | Usually handled, seldom shown. | Checked in the free audit, and explained to your face. |
| Do you understand your own site afterwards | Usually not. | Sometimes, at a price. | An engineer walks you through it in person. |
| After launch | Often unreachable. | An account manager, billed by the hour. | Three months of free changes on the promotion, one month on the standard build. |
| Where we are the weaker choice | The cheapest, if you can vet them yourself. | Large, complex builds with big budgets. | We are new, with a shorter public track record. |

How much does a website cost?
S$500 on the start-up promotion, for a site of up to five pages. S$800 on the standard build: a fixed price, with no page ceiling. Both include the design, the build, a free audit and a warranty period of free changes. For the same brief an agency will usually quote several thousand; a freelancer, anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand.

Why so much cheaper than everyone else?
Because we are new. A studio still building its portfolio and its reputation prices for the work rather than the margin. It is not a smaller scope, not a template and not sent offshore — it is the same work, at a rate that reflects how long we have been doing it in public.
-
What is included for S$500?
A complete site of up to five pages, designed and built for your business. A free audit. An optional in-person session, where an engineer walks you through your own site’s back end. And three months of free changes to the detail after launch. A site that needs more than five pages is quoted separately.
In numbersFive pages · one audit · one visit, if you want it · three months of changes
-
How long does it take?
Between one week and one month. Several technical people work on a build in parallel rather than one person working through a queue — which is also why every build is reviewed by someone other than its author. Some of that time goes to checking in with you before we proceed, not after.
In numbersOne week to one month

Do I need an audit before a redesign?
We strongly recommend one, and it is free with every package. A redesign without an audit is guesswork. The audit protects what is already working, flags what is costing you customers, and tailors the rebuild to what it finds.
-
Can you help with SEO if I already have a site?
Yes, and it does not need a rebuild. It starts with the free audit. From there the SEO, AEO and GEO work is quoted against the state of your current site rather than fixed — both are open by enquiry while they are in development, as the Services page marks them.
-
Do you really come and explain the back end in person?
Yes, if you want it. One of the team visits and walks you through how the site is structured, how it is secured, and how to make changes yourself.
-
What happens if something breaks after launch?
It is covered inside the warranty — three months on the promotion, one month on the standard build — at no extra cost. After that, small changes are charged small. There is no mandatory retainer.
In numbersThree months of changes on the promotion · one month on the standard build · no retainer
-
Can you help with Google Maps and reviews?
Yes, as a separate bundle: Business Profile setup and optimisation, a review-request card, monitoring with an alert on any negative review, and a monthly report. One thing to be clear about: every customer gets asked, and none are filtered out. Review-gating is against Google’s policy and risks the profile being suspended.
-
Do you work with start-ups, or only established companies?
Both, and we are open to partnerships. The start-up pricing exists so a new company is not paying enterprise rates; an established company gets the same fixed price and the same warranty.
-
What if I need more than five pages?
Then the promotion does not apply. Tell us the scope, and we quote it properly once we know what it is.
In numbersOver five pages: quoted, not the S$500 rate
