Walk if you must move. Run and the flame gutters. Wind in the yard is the same as running. Cup the head. Take the long way around a puddle.
The box on the packing floor is the only inventory. Each death costs a stick. There is no refill in the vault — the drums are sealed, and the recipe is not your problem.
The strip on the door jamb still takes a head. Drag it as if you were lighting a stove, not a fuse. A fast strike is a wasted stick and a dark room.
The tool
WICK is played in first person, in silence unless you bring sound. The match is the only HUD. When it dies, the screen is the factory. Strike from the box, or sit in the dark and listen to the rain on the roof until you decide which is worse.
