Weights below are the finished garment on our own scale in a size 3, not the mill’s figure for the cloth. Where a piece says how much of itself is fabric, that number is worked out from the cut area and the cloth weight — it is arithmetic, not marketing.

Crosswind

A 2.5-layer shell with a hood that stays where you put it. The brim is wired, the collar closes above the chin rather than across it, and the hem drops 40 mm at the back so it does not ride when you lean into a climb. Pit zips open one-handed while running, which took three rounds of pull design to be true.

Half Light

The winter tight. Retroreflective piping runs the outside of the calf from ankle to knee, which is the band of a person a driver’s headlights actually sweep. A zipped rear pocket that holds a phone without swinging, an ankle cuff with no zip in it at all, and a waistband wide enough to stop it folding over on itself.

Hard Frost

Grid fleece, knitted as a waffle so the pile sits in islands with channels running between them. Warm air stays in the islands; sweat leaves along the channels. Thumb loops that do not deform the cuff, and a neck that sits high enough to matter without being a collar you resent at mile six.

Dew Point

A singlet that is mostly hole. No side seam anywhere on the garment, bonded hems instead of stitched, and the shoulder seam sits eleven millimetres forward of where every other vest puts it — which is the entire reason the fourth sample was the one that shipped.

Dry Spell

Five-inch split short in the shell’s own 40-denier yarn, woven double and left unlaminated. Two zipped pockets set on the waistband rather than the leg, because a pocket on a moving thigh is a pocket that hits you. No liner — the people who want one already own one they prefer.

Five panels cut from the offcuts of everything above it, which is why it exists and why it costs what it does. A 62 mm brim: long enough to hold the glare off a low winter sun, short enough that you can still see the ground two strides ahead on a descent.

Sizing

A letter is not a measurement.

Sizes run 1 to 6 and mean the same thing on every piece. Measure yourself, find the band, and if you sit on a line take the lower number for anything cut close and the higher one for anything cut easy.

Two fits, and we say which

Close follows the body with about 20 mm of ease at the chest: Hard Frost, Dew Point, Half Light. Easy carries 60 mm and is meant to go over something: Crosswind, Dry Spell.

It does not change between colours, it does not change between runs, and it will not quietly change next year. If a fit ever does move we will say so on this page and give the old measurements alongside the new ones.
